Write down the specific friction your team encounters: repeated entry, hard-to-find history, slow handoffs, training burden, or costs that are difficult to predict. Turn each problem into a task that you can test in a demonstration.

Your history needs its own transition plan.
Separate active data from historical records. Open orders need operational continuity; old certificates and attachments may need a searchable archive. Ask who owns each export, which identifiers will be retained, and how long the old system will remain accessible.
Before cutover, reconcile counts and quantities and trace representative completed jobs through both systems. Do not assume a list of imported customers means the migration is complete. Use our migration checklist to turn these questions into an agreed plan.
