Evaluate the whole workflow, not a feature count.
A replacement needs to fit the way your shop quotes, receives, processes, verifies, and ships work. Ask every vendor to demonstrate a representative job, then repeat the exercise with a split lot, a rework route, or an urgent order.
Confirm the boundaries between your business system, quality records, accounting, and furnace controls. A clearer ERP does not automatically replace every specialist tool. Integrations should have a defined scope, owner, and failure-handling process.
